Opportunity – Risk Analyst at Goldman Sachs
- Goldman Sachs is looking for a motivated, analytical, and intellectually driven Risk Analyst to join the First Line of Defence Risk team within Transaction Banking (TxB). This role is ideal for recent graduates with strong quantitative skills who want to begin a career in risk management.
- The position provides exposure to a broad spectrum of risks, including operational, client, credit, fraud, activity monitoring, financial, and regulatory risk. Unlike roles that focus on one risk type, this unique opportunity helps you build a comprehensive understanding of enterprise-wide risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and reducing potential risks across the business.
- Support the drafting and updating of risk management policies and frameworks.
- Perform detailed data analysis for risk assessments, monitoring, and reporting.
- Partner with teams across departments to gather insights for effective risk evaluation.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and regulatory purposes.
- Research emerging industry risks, regulatory updates, and evolving best practices.
- Contribute ideas to strengthen risk management practices and tools.
- Provide analytical support for ad-hoc risk-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Prior internship or experience in a risk-related or data-driven role is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Solid analytical and data interpretation skills, with proficiency in Excel and SQL.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Independent worker who can also collaborate efficiently within teams.
- Highly proactive, organized, and accurate in work execution.
