What We Are Looking For in You
- Background in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
- Outstanding academic performance
- Hands-on experience with Linux and open source software
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
- Strong desire to learn new technologies and tackle challenging technical issues
- Readiness to travel up to 4 times annually for internal events
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source technologies
- Collaborate closely with Canonical’s Field, Support, and Product Engineering teams
- Contribute to upstream communities
- Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and facilitate their integration upstream
- Conduct code reviews for fellow engineers
- Apply sound technical judgment in problem-solving approaches
- Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Engage in team discussions to enhance processes, tools, and documentation
- Maintain clear, concise, and technical communications
- Work remotely from home with international travel up to 10% for team meetings, conferences, and events
