What We Are Looking For in You

  • Background in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
  • Outstanding academic performance
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and open source software
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies and tackle challenging technical issues
  • Readiness to travel up to 4 times annually for internal events

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source technologies
  • Collaborate closely with Canonical’s Field, Support, and Product Engineering teams
  • Contribute to upstream communities
  • Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and facilitate their integration upstream
  • Conduct code reviews for fellow engineers
  • Apply sound technical judgment in problem-solving approaches
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Engage in team discussions to enhance processes, tools, and documentation
  • Maintain clear, concise, and technical communications
  • Work remotely from home with international travel up to 10% for team meetings, conferences, and events
