AspenTech is looking to welcome motivated professionals to join our expanding Product Quality Team in the role of Software Quality IT Engineer.
In this role, you will be responsible for testing Aspen’s advanced systems that deliver next-generation solutions in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Asset Optimization.
Your Impact
- You will take ownership of managing and improving multiple large-scale internal integrated testing environments that simulate live customer systems.
- This includes designing and configuring hardware, networking, operating systems, and third-party software to maintain these environments effectively.
- A key part of your role will be to develop and implement cybersecurity best practices in line with AspenTech’s standards and regulatory requirements.
- You will perform agile testing and verification on both third-party software and in-house Monarch system components.
- Collaboration is crucial, as you will work closely with various internal technical teams and software developers to enhance overall software and system quality and usability for end users.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, System Administration, Network Administration, or a related discipline.
- 0 to 3 years of professional experience.
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience in system administration, even at the level of managing small networks or personal systems.
- In-depth knowledge of network concepts, including LANs, network protocols, and web technologies.
- Hands-on experience managing virtual environments such as VMWare, vSphere, or Hyper-V.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal technical users.
- Experience with IT hardware and software products, including brands like Cisco, Dell, and HP, is preferred.
- Experience with managing databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is considered an advantage..
- Relevant certifications in networking, operating systems, or cybersecurity will be advantageous.
- Experience in operating system hardening for both Windows and Linux platforms is desirable
