Post: Forest Section Officer (FSO) in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service.
Total Vacancies: 100 (30 carried forward + 70 fresh)
Includes vacancies reserved for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following subjects:
- Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Agriculture.
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university in India.

Physical Standards:

Male: Minimum height 163 cm, chest 84 cm with 5 cm expansion.
Female: Minimum height 150 cm, chest 79 cm with 5 cm expansion.
Relaxation in height up to 5 cm for certain categories (Gurkhas, NE states, Scheduled Tribes).
Normal eyesight required.
Must pass a walking test (Males: 25 km in 4 hours, Females: 16 km in 4 hours) – qualifying only.
Medical fitness certification is mandatory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 30 years as on 01/07/2025
SC, ST, BC, EWS: +5 years
SC/ST Carried Forward Vacancies: +10 years
Other relaxations as per government rules.

Salary:

The salary for the post of Forest Section Officer in the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service is in the pay scale of Rs.32,670 – Rs.1,01,970 per month

Citizenship:

Must be an Indian citizen.

Applicants must register through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) to get User ID.
Fill application with correct details, upload photo and signature.
Application correction allowed for 7 days after deadline (except for name, fee, and age relaxation).
Payment of application and examination fees must be completed online

Fees

Application Fee: Rs. 250/-
Examination Fee: Rs. 80/-
Fee Exemptions:
- SC, ST, BC, Ex-Servicemen
  - Families with White Card from Andhra Pradesh Government
- Unemployed youth declaration (as per government order)
Candidates from other states must pay the full examination fee and are not eligible for reservation benefits.

Selection Procedure

Screening Test (objective, OMR based)
Main Written Examination (objective, OMR based)
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
Physical Tests: Walking Test and Medical Examination (qualifying only)
Merit-based selection considering written marks, physical tests, bonus marks for NCC certificates.
Minimum qualifying marks for written tests:
Open, Ex-Servicemen, EWS: 40%
Backward Classes: 35%
SC & ST: 30%

Examination Details

Screening Test: 150 questions (General Studies, Mental Ability, Mathematics, General Forestry).
Main Exam: 4 papers including General English & Telugu (Qualifying), General Studies & Mental Ability, Mathematics, General Forestry.
Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer.
Exam will be conducted offline (OMR based)
